Vetworks Eastern Africa is implementing a donkey welfare project in Narok County. The project focuses on “Enhancing welfare of working donkeys as an investment for sustained rural livelihood in Narok County.” This project runs under banner of “Mtunze Punda.Daima” and was started in 2013 with support from The Brooke East Africa.
Livestock livelihood support programs have mainly focused on protecting and building of depleted livestock assets of the community. The projects are aimed at building the community resilience against shocks. Livestock restocking activities targeting vulnerable households have been carried out in Kitui and Makueni with improved indigenous poultry and goats being the main animals distributed to communities.
